Do I need to have a Realtor to buy new construction? No, you do not need to have a Realtor to purchase new construction. You have the option of remaining a customer which means that you have chosen not to establish an agency relationship with a Realtor.
What can I expect from the sales agent if I remain a Customer? According to the State of South Carolina Disclosure of Real Estate Brokerage Relationships listed below, you can expect the sales agent to do the following:
"present all offers in a timely manner,account for money or other property received on your behalf, provide an explanation of the scope of services to be provided, be fair and honest and provide accurate information, provide limited confidentiality, and disclose “material adverse facts” about the property or the transaction which are within the licensee's knowledge."
Will the sales agent work to promote my best interest in throughout the transaction? It is important to understand that the customer relationship is not a client relationship.
